Saint Cuthbert of Lindisfarne (c. 634 - 687) was a monk, bishop, & hermit who lived in Northumbria, England during the 7th century. He was known for his piety, humility, & miracles, & played an important role in establishing Christianity in the North of England. He withdrew from public life & became a hermit on the island of Inner Farne, where he died in 687. Saint Cuthbert is considered one of the most important saints of the early Anglo-Saxon church. Can be hung on a wall or placed on a flat surface. The item is sold without the stand depicted.
