Vintage Clarice Cliff Art Deco Plate with Burgundy Flower Measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter Photos are part of the items description Clarice Cliff was born in Tunstall, England in 1899 & grew up in the Staffordshire pottery district. She began work at 13 years of age & by 1916 was a studio painter at Wilkinson Royal Staffordshire Pottery in Burslem, England. She is most famous for her art deco designs but her more traditional designs were most popular in her lifetime. This salad plate is from her "Georgian Spray" pattern. It was designed in 1943 & combines the floral sensibilities of traditional dinnerware with the flair of art deco pottery. This salad plate is in good vintage condition.
