Description
A Victorian set containing hand wrought, sterling silver tea & coffee pots with a creamer. Each has fine chase & repousse work in an ornate rose & scroll motif with panels. The two pots have a bird finial & spacers so the handles are cool for pouring. The inside of the creamer is gilt. The set was made by Martin, Hall & Co of Sheffield, England in 1856 & 1857. The teapot measures 12 1/2 inches high, the coffee pot is 9 H, & the creamer is 7 1/4. Their total weight is 66.84 troy ounces. CONDITION: The teapot handle is loose at its spacers, needing repair. A few small, shallow dents in the pieces. One side of the teapot foot is slightly bent upwards. The coffee pot lid does not close perfectly level. The teapot & creamer rock a bit on their pedestal foot. Light wear to the gilt on the creamer inside.
