Description
A nice hand thrown pottery vessel made by well known California studio potter John Mason (1927-2019). He studied under Peter Voulkos. This lidded pottery jar is finely crafted & glazed in a natural white glaze with brown & blue highlights around the base & rim edges. A wide vertical white band of color is seen on the side which extends up on the lid & down the other side. It measures 5.5" tall by 3.75" wide. The base is signed MASON in his script in the clay. The condition is nice & original on this California studio pottery vase. Looks like faint remnants of an old tag or label inside the lid. A nice piece for your California studio pottery collection.
