This is a vintage Clebar "Big Eyes" chronograph wristwatch dating to approximately the late 1950s. Clebar is a subsidiary company of the popular brand Zodiac, & was produced in the same factories. They were high quality watches & were often distributed to the Canadian market. This chronograph is a very rugged & cool looking timepiece. The military style dial still has its original lume (the hands have been re-lumed). The chronograph can be used as a tachymeter to determine the speed of objects. "Big Eyes" refers to the larger than normal seconds & minute counter sub dials. It gives this watch an interesting & powerful look. The 34.5mm case shows visible wear adding to it's rugged appearance. The dial is in good original condition with a scratch near the 12:00 position & some small scratches near the center. The case is inscribed in an unusual spot. It has the original owners name engraved on the edge of the case. The chronograph mechanism works smoothly & resets to zero as it should. The springs in the pushers have been greased to ensure smooth action. It has been fit with a new dark brown leather strap. The 17 jewel Landeron 148 movement has been serviced & is keeping great time with daily winding. It comes with a limited 1 year warranty. Warranty information/limitations: -This watch is guaranteed to run accurately (with daily winding) up to +-5 minutes per day for a total of one year from the date of shipment. (Note, this watch is currently running MUCH more accurately than that, however if you keep your watch near magnetic items it may greatly affect the accuracy of the watch if parts become magnetized) -Any Waterproof/resistant indications on the case or dial should not be considered accurate. I personally never recommend treating any vintage timepiece as waterproof. Damage due to liquid is not covered in the warranty. -Warranty ONLY covers the mechanical features of this timepiece from normal use. Damage due to mishandling, impacts, liquid, heat, etc will not be covered. If item is sent to be repaired & it is determined to have such damage, the customer will be responsible for return shipping of the timepiece as-is OR can choose to have the timepiece repaired for a fee. -Watch band/crystal/case damage is NOT included in the warranty -Customers will pay all shipping to & from repair, unless repair cannot be completed. If repair is not possible, @wearhasthetimegone will either reimburse the customer in full (for retail price & repair shipping) & retain the timepiece OR will return the timepiece & reimburse shipping ONLY (whichever customer prefers). -Turnaround time for repairs cannot be guaranteed as some replacement parts can be very difficult to acquire.
