The waist measurement is about 1-2 inches larger than what you would normally wear. Adult Small Overalls 32-34" waist. Medium 34-36" waist, Large 36-38 waist XL are 38-42 waist. They have been washed & dried to set in the color. I recommend washing them in cold water separate from other items for the first couple of washings. The overalls may have variations in color from the original denim & variations of dye color which add to the rustic charm of the garment.
