This print reveals the geographic references that the various forms on the flag represent: the blue triangles represent Lake Mendota & Lake Monona; the diagonal white stripe represents the Isthmus; the central black cross-form mimics the building footprint of the Wisconsin State Capitol building with the central yellow circle referencing its dome.
