1905 Orange hybrid, Morton Citrange US Department of Agriculture. Published print featuring botonical innovations. Signed in plate by DG (Deborah Griscom) Passmore (American, 1840-1911). Published print Printed 1906 9 x 5.75 Inches, high quality vintage print blank on the back thick paper "New" developed fruit varieties. Morton Citrange is one of a number of seedlings from the same fruit. A "cross was made by applying pollen of the sweet orange to a properly bagged flower of the trifoliate orange & from a crossed fruit so secured a dozen hybrid seedlings developed, among them the Colman, Morton, Savage, Rustic, Etonia, Norton, Phelps & Sanford citranges" Based on pollination comments & time of first fruiting, this cross was made in the period between 1896 to 1899 The page is in excellent shape. This would look lovely framed & displayed in your garden room or study. We'll wrap up carefully to ensure a safe journey. Typically rolled in a cardboard mailer or enclosed with a stiff backing encased in a cello sleeve & mailed in a photo mailer.
