The Ganesh statue has wonderful presence!! The beautifully detailed Ganesh is joyously dancing with his right foot held up in the air. He has 8 arms which hold a Hindu scepter, an axe, an elephant goad, a pleat, a noose, a ball of modaka sweet. His front hands held up in a posture much like that of his father, Shiva, in the Nataraja pose playing a flute. Every detail is magnificently carved, his glorious crown, the godly Mahakala or "great time" behind him, & the elaborately designed belt around his enormous belly. Ganesh is the remover of obstacles, the deity whom worshipers first acknowledge when they visit a temple. The casting is beautiful!
