This very rare Sam Smith folk art cat sculpture that was just found in a great old St. Louis estate. Sam Smith (1908-1983) was an amazing English designer, sculptor, & painter. There is a museum dedicated to his work, the BBC did a movie about him, & he was considered the 'father of modern automata". This little kitty cat is from a series of cats that he did. This one is "A Scotch Cat". It is marked on the bottom & in very good condition as you can see in the photos. He dates from the 1950s. To 1970s. He measures 3" tall.
