The worst part of edge banding for me is tying to shave off the extra without damaging the edge banding or the wood/melamine I'm working with. I've tried several options but none gave me the finish I was looking for. I saw that Festool had an edge band trimmer but am not about to drop $660 for it when I have one big mouth, one smaller mouth, & one baby mouth to feed at home, so I made my own with my 3D printer! SIZE The handle portion measures 6in x 3in x 4.75in with the base measuring 4.5in x 4.75in giving ample support on your piece. The base plate is made to match the stock router plate. ABOUT THIS ITEM: There are separate plates designed to fit DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid, & Ryboi cordless palm routers. Please make sure you select the correct plate for your router as they have differing mounting plate hole configurations! You just need any 1/2 bottom bearing flush trim bit & you're ready to trim! I like Whiteside, but you can use any bit like it. All you have to do is use the existing screws from your router plate & replace it with the plate that I provide. It is designed so that when the top of the handle & base are flush, it's aligned properly, but there is still wiggle room up & down. Adjust the amount of cut you want with your router adjustment ring, up to 1in thick. The base & handle are printed in PLA+ to ensure the handle is flat & square on my Bambu Lab X1 Carbon with the base plate printed at 75% infill & the handle portion at 50% infill.
