Description

AFRICAN HOUSE Original Watercolor 11 x 14 inches This original watercolor depicts the most unusual architecture structure in America! The African House, located at Melrose Plantation, was thought to be used as a place to store food. Bars cover the windows to keep rodents like raccoons or possums out of the food supply! Today, the house displays murals & artworks of Clementine Hunter! Melrose Plantation is a 30 minute drive south of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Everyone should see it at least once! I try to see it often! This is the place Clementine Hunter's art was created from. The owner had an artist colony there, & out of that Clementine Hunter produced fabulous, colorful primitive art for everyone to enjoy! This artwork is signed! The date, title & other information is on the back. These prints are available in limited edition of 100. This artwork is framed & has a neutral hue for the mat to keep the artwork as the focal point. The frame measures 17.5 x 21.5 inches. Shipped with care in a large box with plenty of foam & bubble wrap protection. Tracking number & insurance for shipping. An artist statement & bio are included. Watermark does not appear on the painting. Copyright does not transfer with sale of this artwork. Thanks for browsing Dixielandart!
