French Market Acrylic 7 x 7 inch Listed is my "French Market" painting. This is a new original acrylic painting which was painted in 2023! Inspiration comes from one of the many sites of the French Quarter! Individuals have been shopping here for decades This famous architectural structure lies near the Mississippi River at the edge of the Quarter! The entrance is decorated for Mardi Gras! DETAILS: This painting is signed on the front & has the title & other information on the back. It is painted on the sides so it can be hung without a frame. It can also be placed on a tabletop easel! About the artist: Kristi Jones was named after Howard Chandler Christy, who was a 20th century illustrator & distant relative. Kristi developed an innate artistic ability from being raised in an artistic home, which had an art studio & library. Both of her parents obtained art degrees. Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state & federal duck stamp art contests, & her mother has sold work at a local gallery. Kristi studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA), & is also self-taught. She has created mosaics & sold her unique tropical jewelry at the Red River Revel for four years. Presently, she has turned to painting, & has sold work both locally & nationally. She has exhibited at shows & galleries, including several group shows in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College's Meadows Museum of Art & Centenary's Magale Library, Artspace, & the Bailey Gallery in downtown Shreveport. in December 2011, Kristi was awarded a visual arts grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC), & became a Juried Roster Artist in 2012. She is a member of Louisiana Artists, Inc. & the Hoover Watercolor Society. She has a permanent exhibit is at the University Medical Center in New Orleans.
