From our recent mineral mining expedition to North Carolina, comes this beauty, a showy pegmatite specimen found at the Brushy Creek Mine! It is composed of a mixture of bright-white feldspar blocks, smoky quartz, shiny black schorl tourmaline, & a thick bed of intertwined flashy black to brown biotite mica. The Brushy Creek Mine is open to the public for a fee, & I'd highly recommend it to those who are able to climb steep boulder-strewn slopes (picture of yours truly on site in modified garbage bag raincoat). This third-generation pegmatite mine is rich in minerals! Measures 2.5 x 2.15 x 1.85 inches.
