Heljä Liukko-Sundström (simply HLS) is/was one of the best-known artists at Arabia, as she worked about five decades for Arabia Finland. HLS is a multi-talent person: except these fine naïve pictures she has authored books for children. For Iittala glassworks she has also designed paperweights. This picture, designed in 1991, is named Kellohelmat. in Finland kellohelmat means a special formed dress that women use in the summer when they go out dancing Finnish tango, waltz & humppa. That form is the same as in these flowers: bell form. So usually this picture is translated simply Bells (without dress connection).
