A finely cast French Orientalist sculpture After "Porteur d'Eau Tunisien" (Tunisian Water Carrier) by Jean-Didier Debut. The bronze depicts a robust young man in mid-stride bearing two large water vessels. Cast by the Pinedo Bronzier foundry of Paris. Simply a wonderful sculpture! Date: Late 19th Century. Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with some minor rubbing to the patina, some very fine & light surface scratches, & other expected signs of light wear consistent with age . Maker: Pinedo Bronzier foundry after Debut Marks: The front of the plinth bears a small plaque that reads: Prix de Rome. The base bears a Debut signature, a Paris bronze guarantee pastille.
