An antique Samson Enamel "Email De Saxe" style Snuff Box. This style with raised decoration with gilding was first produced in Saxony in the very early 18th century. The subject on the lid depicts a kneeling Chinese fisherman. Simply a great antique snuff box! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century. Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition Condition Details: With an apparently re-attached silver mount. (There appear to be traces of glue in the interior). There is some light edge wear, fine & light surface scratches here & there, & other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Samson Marks: The mount bear illegible French silver hallmarks. The interior lid bears an Edme. Samson interlocking factory signature. Measurements: Height: ca. 1 in. Length: ca. 2 in.
