Welcome to our emergency fundraiser for the desperate humantiarian crisis following the devastating recent earthquakes in Turkey & Syria. Ten pounds from the sale of each pair will be donated to charities working tirelessly on the ground as we speak. The donations will be shared between Shelterbox & Hand in Hand for Syria, both of which are carrying out & assisting with rescue operations, & providing desperately needed emergency shelter, medical supplies, food & water. Himaya is the Arabic word for 'protection'. The pieces in the collection are inspired by the eye of protection, & the stunning colours found in the kilim rugs & intricate tiles for which Turkey & Syria's artisans have been known for centuries. The eye of protection is used by cultures all over the owrld, but most prevalent throughout the mediterranean & Weat Asia & feels especially relevant given the protection we are all hoping can be found for those affected. These beaten stainless steel, sterling silver, & semi sprecious gem earrings are made in beautiful Cornwall. The stainless steel is hand beaten on a series of anvils, the oldest of which is around 170 years old, giving a uniquely shimmering texture like no other. They are listed as either a stainless steel stud version, or with a sterling silver French hook. Clip ons are available too; Just add a note with your order for this option. All our jewellery is plastic free, as are our postage & packaging materials. We are always working towards greater & greener consciousness in everything we do.
