This is a listing for a J & G Meakin Blue Nordic Dessert Plate. It features a blue onion pattern that was first introduced on Chinese porcelain in the 1600s & 1700s, & copied by Meissen. Actually, the original blue onion pattern did not feature onions. It featured a bulb of fruits (peaches or pomegranates). Made in England. Dishwasher proof per the stamp on the back of the plate. This Blue Nordic Dessert Plate is hand engraved on English Ironstone. The Blue Onion Dessert Plate could be part of a blue & white decor, farmhouse decor, country-style or rustic decor. If you have a blue & white display/wall of plates, you can add this Meakin plate to bring a stunning blue pattern to the mix.
