This unique piece is a scale representation of downtown Chicago in three dimensions. It represents about one square mile of the city's architectural landscape, including buildings, roadways, & waterways. Please see the images & drop-down bar for the full list of variations. Let me know if you have any questions. "12x12" = 11.25 x 11.25 inch model & 12.75 x 12.75 inch frame The tallest buildings extend no more than 3 inches from the wall. Each piece comes with hanging hardware. ══ The Model ══ The model was created using computer-aided design software. Buildings & features are carefully designed & optimized for quality & the 3D printing process. Real geo-spacial data of Chicago served as a foundation in creating this model. ══ The Process ══ The model is 3D printed in sections wherein a small nozzle deposits PLA plastic layer by layer, building the city from the ground up. To achieve the highest level of quality, the process is exceptionally slow. Layers are printed fractions of a millimeter thick, therefore large pieces take several days to create. The printed material is Bright White PLA bio-plastic, & contains no high melt point additives, waxes or fillers for superior print quality. ══ Notes & Precautions ══ The high level of detail in these pieces lends to a slow production process. Please understand that lead times may vary based on the number of parts ordered. I will do my best to keep you informed with shipping times & to promptly deliver pieces you will be proud to display. With any 3D printing process a small degree of variation & minor imperfections can be expected. The model contains thin features which are quite fragile. Please use care when unpacking & handling. The plastic model material can deform under extreme heat in excess of 100oF. Display the piece indoors & preferably away from heat sources.
