It is from a Geologic Atlas folio & features the rare heading "Moraines," which means a mass of rocks & sediment carried down & deposited by a glacier, typically as ridges at its edges or extremity. See what Wisconsin looked like more than 125 years ago. Lots of intricate details & geological contours. Map even has little squares for every house that existed at the time. The USGS cartographers were very thorough back then! This is one of the rare maps where the topographic symbols & map guide are on the front.
