Very rare real Metalmark butterfly, Rodinia calphurnia from Peru, presented in a handmade 5"x5" wood frame. Professionally mounted on parchment paper with the scientific name & country of origin printed below. You will receive the exact same framed specimen shown in the photos. This is a very imperfect A2 specimen. There is some minor scale damage at the tops of the forewings, a very small spot of missing scales on the left forewing. There is also a tear in the left hindwing which is pretty much impossible to spot. Most importantly, a large chunk of the right hind tail was missing & has been repaired with a small piece of wing from a different specimen. I mostly did this to create symmetry between the tails but the coloration & patterning on the added piece is not 100% exactly the same as the intact left tail. Normally I do not sell A2 specimens like this but this is such a rare & lovely species that I thought it worthwhile. I have never seen one of these in person before & all considered it is still a really nice example of a practically impossible to source species. Wingspan measures 1.6 inches.
