Get this beautiful Mackinac Bridge standing table top display, made from a piece of original Mackinac Bridge steel road grate decking, as originally installed in 1957. This would be a cool addition to any home or workspace. This display showcases a nicely cut section of grating, with sanded edges, & a warm satin polyurethane finish that brings out the remaining distinctive original green Mackinac Bridge paint color. The steel Bridge piece is securely mounted (no visible fasteners) to a carefully stained & finished piece of poplar, for a classic, traditional smooth look & feel. Cork & rubber standoffs are applied to the underside to protect any surface from marring. This would make a great gift, & would make a great piece for a table top, end table, desk, shelf, or even in your camper or RV so you can take a piece of the Mackinac Bridge with you the next time you travel across it! Decades ago, this steel grating was originally painted with lead-based paint. Much of the original lead-based paint is gone, but the Buyer needs to agree with the following "Hold Harmless Agreement" related to the lead paint. LEAD PAINT DISCLOSURE (HOLD HARMELSS AGREEMENT): The used steel grating traffic deck sections removed from the Mackinac Bridge have been painted with lead-based paint. This coating existed on the grating at the time of removal from the Bridge & at the time of the original sale of the used grating. The remaining components of the existing paint on the grating is unknown. I understand that the used grating is painted with lead-based paint & that lead based paint is a hazardous material. I understand that wastes that are hazardous must be properly stored, treated, & disposed of in accordance with the Federal Resource Conservation & Recovery Act. I understand the remaining components of the existing paint are not known. I understand the seller is not assuming any obligation regarding the grating condition, & seller disclaims any & all liability arising from the use, resale, or disposal of the grating section once in my ownership. As consideration for the purchase of the used piece of grating from the Mackinac Bridge, the buyer accepts & assumes 100% of the risk involved in owning, using, reselling & disposing of the grate piece, & therefore acquits, relieves, exempts & releases the seller from any & all claims for injury, illness, accident or damages sustained by the use or disposal of the grating piece. The buyer indemnifies & holds harmless the seller for any liability for damages or for injury or illness brought by any negligence of the buyer in connection with the use, resale, or disposal of the grate piece.
