12th Anniversary Custom Silk, Many Birds Abstract SILK Print for Special Celebration, Handmade Silk Print for Original Gift, Birds & Flowers This is a very lovely SILK PRINT of a BATIK I created in 2019. (BATIK is a unique process of alternatingly using hot wax & dyes to create designs on fabric. The fabric eventually is covered with wax & dye, & the design is barely visible. The wax is ironed off & the design emerges.) It is such an interesting piece, somewhat abstract & yet one can find many little birds hidden within. Note that this listing is for the Silk Print. Mats & Framing are for display purposes only. My orders do take me a little bit of time especially right now when I have so many of them. So for the standard option, it is 2 weeks before I will be able to ship off. If you need it sooner, I offer a RUSH option, which is 1 - 5 days turnaround depending on your need. CREATION TIME is the Time it takes me to create the piece. Shipping is additional time. Note that the rush shipping will not be reflected in your order until I make the change myself after I receive your order. Priority shipping is 2 to 3 days & included. The design is printed directly onto paper-backed SILK Habotai. This SILK is designed to run through my exceptional printer & takes the inks beautifully. The size of the print is 8.5" X 11 (this includes a 1/4 inch white border for framing purposes) & will come with a backing board of 1/4" archival foam core & in a plastic sleeve. I also include a fully CUSTOMIZABLE BACKING PAGE, that makes this one of the most personal gifts for that special someone. If no customization is desired, then I include some information about the piece & about me. This is a lovely print. Colors are very rich. The quality of the print is wonderful. The process for this piece was a little different in that the original fabric started off as a color tester instead of pure white. It had all these lovely colors on it & I wanted to do something with it. So I started waxing, "looking for" little birds & using the wax to "capture" what I saw. It was really quite an experience & very freeing. BATIK can sometimes be very laborious when a intricately detailed design is to be achieved. This process was much more spontaneous. This design is quite lovely, with rich colors & might just be perfect for that 12th Anniversary or a lovely gift, especially for MOM. I like my followers to know that fully 20% of the profit of this print will go to my local non-profit, Native Animal Rescue of Santa Cruz. They are a wonderful & necessary rescue facility that has helped our injured & orphaned wildlife over & over & over. I can't say enough about them.
