This decorative porcelain plate depicts Yuan-chun who is wearing elaborately embroidered court robes. She was chosen 'Lady' in the palace because of her goodness, filial piety, & talents. The dream of Red Mansions was written in the Years between 1755 & 1790 by Tsao Hsueh-chin & was a satire of imperial feudal favoritism revealing accurate insiders contemporary portrait of access privilege power & Corruption among China's feudal ruling classes.
