An original portrait painting from an estate. Signed & dated (1874) by the artist, M Wells Measures 12"w x 16"h (art only) 17" x 21" including the frame. The frame appears to be original, 19th century circa. The design shows a child wearing a red dress & holding an ABC book. Signature & date are in a very dark area to the lower left. The frame has numerous light to medium chips. Can definitely be restored, however, that's for the future owner to decide. I enjoy it as is. A very nice display. Stable & secure despite the cosmetic flaws. The art itself is in very nice, antique condition. No thinning or damages found. No chips, tears or repairs. No odors. A super piece of art & history.
