The Dome of Heaven | Here are the boys, chewing sage-green hay in the snow calm of a bright morning. I could hear them whickering out by the fence, waiting for me to toss the dry leaves of their breakfast into the pasture, now slumbering beneath the eiderdown of winter. This is an intaglio etching print made from a copper plate on which I used line etching & aquatint to create the image. You will receive a print from an edition of 45, signed & dated by me. There are subtle shifts in tonality due to the process of being hand-inked, hand-wiped, & hand-rolled through the press. So, it will look very much like the pictures, but not exactly the last photo shows some of said variation. It is NOT a digital print. It will ship flat with cardboard backing, in a cellophane sleeve. SPECS: Printed on BFK Rives Printmaking Paper, White, 250 gsm with a mixture of vine black & burnt umber ink, so it's a soft black color. The image area is 4.5" x 6.5" The paper is 8" x 10" (ruler-torn, not cut) I recommend having the print matted to help the paper lie flat in a frame. Also a matted print just looks more finished.
