Description

Cucumber, Beit Alpha (Cucumis sativus) - 30 Seeds Heirloom Open Pollinated Non-GMO American Grown Seeds Annual USDA Zones: 4-11 The Beit Alpha cucumber is an extremely popular & highly desirable heirloom variety, originally from the Beit Alpha kibbutz in Israel. It is known for its crisp texture, mild flavor, & thin, easy-to-eat skin. The cucumbers are medium-sized, usually about 6-8 inches long, & have a uniform cylindrical shape. They are great for fresh eating, slicing, & pickling, & are particularly well-suited to greenhouse production. They are also heat-tolerant & resistant to cucumber mosaic virus. GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Beit Alpha Cucumbers thrive in full sun & require no stratification. Sow the seeds directly outdoors in well-draining soil after the last frost, at a depth of 1 inch. Plant them in hills, with 2-3 seeds per hill, spacing the hills 3-4 feet apart & the rows 6-8 feet apart. Alternatively, grow them vertically on a trellis or support structure. Keep the soil consistently moist during the germination period, which typically takes 7-10 days. Water regularly throughout the growing season, ensuring that the soil remains well-drained. FREE SHIPPING on all orders of $35 or more. Flat Rate shipping no matter how many seeds you order. Growing instructions included on each seed packet.
