This listing features a P&D Jefferson Nickel Set from 1963. These Nickels have a clad composition of 25% Nickel, & 75% Copper. They are circulated & from the Philadelphia & Denver Mints. The Jefferson Nickel has been the longest running series for the nickel. This nickel features our third president on the Obverse & was introduced in 1938. This came after the introduction of the Lincoln & Washington coins, representing the third series of American coin to feature a former president. During its history, the Jefferson Nickel has undergone a temporary composition change (the 40's war-era) & in more recently many obverse & reverse changes. The original Jefferson Nickel featured a left facing Jefferson on the obverse with inscriptions in GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, & the date.
