Incredibly RARE early-50s Traina-Norell red heavy cotton linen halter dress with the fullest skirt & and amazing back design. This is such a piece of art. The workmanship is absolutely stellar! The halter is made up of two pieces on each side - one sewn down & another that hooks on the sewn down halter. This style was famously worn by Marilyn Monroe (and she supposedly wore it 'wrong' to great effect!) The thick waistband closes on the back with four buttons on each side. Press stud buttons then follow below as a closure on the skirt. & that skirt is of course so so amazingly full. Every step you take is a swoosh of fabric! & the piece de resistance? A tiny white & blue color blocked insert on the v neckline. Condition: Excellent. Slight color run on the white & blue insert but not really noticeable.
