Description
This armed forces flag photo is a newly printed copy of a 1918 formation photo, taken at Camp Funston in Fort Riley, Kansas. The photographer coordinated a brigade of military personnel, having them stand in the shape of the U.S. Armed Forces service flag. The photo was taken on a tall tower, with the amount of people adjusted toward the back of the formation for perspective. The armed forces service flag was hung in the window of homes of soldiers or sailors serving during the war. This interesting photo is printed in sepia tone, & framed under glass in reclaimed wood. This handcrafted artwork is made using barn wood salvaged from structures in Illinois. We re-saw & mill the wood to make unique one-of-a-kind frames. Frames are then hand sanded & finished with the highest quality wax, & buffed to a satin finish. Double strength glass is installed, & the print is mounted beneath the glass. We then add a vinyl lettering caption to the glass to give it a shadow box effect. Each frame had unique antique patina & imperfections, making it unlike other framed art.
