Gappa the Triphibian Monster-A Rare Original Vintage German Movie Poster of Hiroshi Noguchi's Classic Kaiju Adventure with Tamio Kawaji, Kôji Wada, & Tatsuya Fuji. Gappa is Angry "Gappa the Triphibian Monster" or "Daikyojû Gappa" was made by Nikkatsu Studios to cash in on the worldwide success of Godzilla. The story begins as we follow a group of intrepid explorers sent to find exotic animals for a new theme park being built by a magazine tycoon. The expedition soon lands on a south pacific island where they discover a native tribe who worships a mysterious God named Gappa. When the rugged island terrain is ruptured by an earthquake, the explorers discover a deep cavern protecting a large & curious reptilian egg. They whisk it back to a Japanese research center, where the creature hatches & cries for its mamma. Fortunately for little baby Gappa & unfortunately for human civilization, the parents show up & they are very ticked off, trashing most of Tokyo as they rescue their newborn child. This film was at least partly inspired by the classic film Gorgo, which was made just six years earlier. Gappa is always noted in the annals of Japanese science fiction due to the fact that it was the only Kaiju Eiga produced by the Nikkatsu studio, which went bankrupt soon after releasing this film. This original poster has discoloration from tape on all (4) corners as well as a strip of clear vintage tape along the back of the right corner's vertical edge. This tape looks to have been put on the back for no apparent reason other than providing slight rigidity to the border edge. Although the tape is not visible on the poster surface, please take
