Antique pair of Chinese Export helmet jugs, in classic form with impressed designs in the porcelain, off white rippled glaze surface with enamel decoration in rust orange color, one with bits of blue & green in the applied enamel, both have damage, sold AS IS. Measurements: 6 1/2" wide, 5 1/4" high, 3 1/2" (slight difference between the two, one slightly small in depth) This form is a traditional 18th century Georgian form, but copied by the Chinese for export wares sent to England & the US. The applied enamel designs are also typically in the Western style, here using floral & swag designs, & often export wares were decorated with armorial crests. The porcelain is slightly translucent in thinner areas, has an "orange peel" effect on one of them, & is slightly off white. CONDITION shows breakage & repairs on both jugs, visible in photos. The jug with the swag decoration on the lip has a broken handle, & breaks in the body, a notch missing along the lip near the handle. The other also has a notch missing on the lip, & a repaired section of the lip. Please be well aware of these issues before bidding, again, they are very as is.
