This is an eye catching 80s vintage designer "Carolyne Roehm" plunge front dress! It has some condition issues, so please see all the photos! It's made of a gorgeous purple, 100% wool tweed, possibly a worsted wool. This handsome dress has shoulder pads that could be removed, if you desired, & long sleeves with dramatic winged cuffs. It fastens in back with a 22" long Talon zipper & three hooks & eyes. in the front there are two large textured golden metal buttons at the waist that give the illusion of holding a wrap closed, but in fact the dress closes completely in the front at the waist. It opens back up, wrap style, below the waist to reveal a gauzy light purple lining. Inside it has dressmaker's ribbon encircling the waist. Our model chose to wear it daringly on its own, & this dress also gives you an excellent opportunity to show off a favorite under-layer - like a sweet cami or lace top! This garment is in FAIR to good, freshly "home dry cleaned" condition with small holes on the inside front & outside back of the collar, & one small hole on each cuff, on the right sleeve by the elbow, as well as mild staining noted inside the neckline. Please see the closeup pictures. This designer dress would be $200 if pristine so we have priced it for the condition, & it is worthy of being professionally restored. The labels read "Carolyne Roehm, 10, Made in USA, 100% Pure Wool, Professionally dry clean." There is a red, white & blue 1976 era ILGWU, International Ladies Garment Workers Union label. It also has a paper tag inside which is hand signed, "Josie." It fits like a Women's Medium & measures: Chest - 36 inches, Waist - 28 inches, Hips - 40 inches, Shoulders - 18 inches, Sleeves - 24 inches, Bodice Length - 17.5 inches, Length - 44 inches.
