#36961 Vintage reproduction brass snuff / trinket / pill box engraved with a coat of arms featuring a lion passant rearing on a shield or crest, surrounded by wheat sheaves, foliate leaves, & a swan on a nest; marked WM Adaptation. Province Estate of J. Frederic Gagel, owner of multiple Thoroughbred race horses that competed in the Narragansett Special & Kentucky Derby. Their family heritage was strongly intertwined with the military having officers in battles dating back to the American Revolution.
