Roseville Brown Pinecone Vase, double handle (at top). Size: 6 1/4" tall with 4" mouth. Marked: Roseville U.S.A. 838-6". "Pine-Cone" is a very popular pattern introduced by Roseville Pottery in 1935. Many collectors spell the pattern pinecone. Pinecone was originally designed by Frank Ferrell. Standard colors are green, blue, & brown. Early pinecone was marked with foil labels, & some had hand-written shape numbers. Later pieces had die-impressed or raised Roseville script marks, shape numbers, & sizes. It has always been a favorite of collectors. There are 93 examples of pinecone in the factory stock pages. No doubt about it, the brown pattern is the most interesting & sought after. Condition: Looks like small top rim repaired at one time but does not detract from the simple & elegant beauty of this small collectable vase. See close-up photos of top rim. Overall, very good vintage condition. Normal age-related issues like some very light crazing may be evident. No severe loss of color or environmental damage, or other known damage that we have noticed.
