The project is made from high quality HDF that is super smooth, doesn't require sanding between coats & doesn't bleed through your paint making your project look dull over time. Market Stand with base measures approx: 7.25" x 8" Insert includes: Awning with shamrock, window with leprechaun hats. The side has a sign announcing Lucky Hats & the other side has leprechaun gnome. The middle sign says, "St. Patty's Hat Stand". On the back, the "U" shape goes just below the window opening & it is covered with a solid piece. See picture of the back provided. The inserts are sold separately from the market stand & the pieces can velcro on to the market stand if you want it to be interchangeable. If you do not want to change out the pieces, they can be glued on & stay permanent. What exactly is HDF?? High Density Fiberboard It's an engineered, composite wood board that has no natural wood grain, but is easy to paint with any acrylic paint. It absorbs paint fast, so it is best to paint thin layers on. If the paint is dragging, the paint may need to be thinned a little with water or get your paint brush damp. Acrylic or oil based paint pens work great too! HDF should never be put in contact with direct moisture/weather as it is water resistant, but not waterproof. It won't warp as it is resistant to absorbing moisture from the air. It is durable, but not quite as structurally capable as regular wood.
