Note: These towels are new & have been prewashed so they will feel softer & more relaxed than what they might feel in the store. Why prewash before sewing the fabric onto them? I assure you it is not because I like to do laundry. Prewashing & drying according to manufacturer's directions: 1.sets the color so that it won't bleed through the fabric 2.takes the initial lint so that you won't have a large amount stuck to the fabric 3.when new towels are dried for the first time, they have a tendency to shrink in from the sides where the band is. Without pre-washing & drying the towel first, the fabric would still be where I sewed it but the towel would be puckering slightly at the sides which would affect the look of the fabric & how it lays on the towel.
