This rare post modern lamp "No Neon" is designed by renowned Swedish designer Olle Andersson for Boréns in the 1980s. 80s deco. The lamp is in the Memphis style with its playful design & bright colours. It is made of white lacquered metal with a painted inside wich gives a pink & green pastel reflection when lit. This fun table lamp is the obvious centerpiece in any modern room. It can be used both as a table lamp or a wall light. It is in excellent vintage condition, & is totally rewired. We have a few of these lamps in stock & they're all in the same excellent condition. The price is for one (1) lamp. The light switch is on the cord, european standard plug. The design is inspired by the Memphis Group who was active between 1980-1987. The Memphis Design is a design style born in the living room of Ettore Sottsass in December 1980. A group of 22 italian designers & architects gathered to discuss the future of design. They disliked the simplicity of Modernism, its use of modest lines & neutral colours. The result was a retro aesthetic, known for its bright colours, geometric shapes & abstract designs. Olle Andersson is educated as a building engineer & started his career at White Architects where he later became a partner. Andersson worked extensively with interior architecture, furniture & lightning design, & in 1975 started the new interior division at White Architects which at the time was ground breaking. Andersson has been working as a designer, teacher & professor in many countries around the world & during the eighties & nineties he was awarded with the Swedish award "Excellent Swedish Design", no less than 19 times for his furniture design. in 2004 Andersson were given the title Honorary Doctorate at Chalmers University of Technology for his important contributions to the interior architecture & design field.
