This ring was my grandaunt's. It was given to her as a wedding gift from my great-grandfather on her graduation from high school. She gave it to me on mine. As much as I would enjoy to wear it, my hands have been stricken with rheumatoid arthritis & wearing rings has become next to impossible. Beauty such as this should be enjoyed, not left in a drawer, & so I offer it & the story here. I am sure my great-grandfather purchased it at one of the jewelers in Galveston, Texas. He gave each of his daughters one on their graduation. & now, the particulars - ring is a size 8. My grandaunt wore it on her index finger. Marked 14K & an indecipherable maker's mark inside. Cameo is of a beautiful profile of a woman.. Ring weighs, by my scale 3.2 grams & cameo is prong set. The setting has always been a bit loose & yet I have never lost the cameo. I would encourage you to have the prong or prongs bent to secure the cameo, This is beyond my skill set & my hand strength now. My grandaunt was a hell raiser. I have stories & those involve sailors, a famous Galveston night club, & more than a little gin. My grandaunt looked like Edith Piaf, & yes, she was French. Now you know.
