Tagetes lemmonii is a shrubby evergreen perennial, known commonly as Mountain Marigold, Copper Canyon Daisy & Perennial Marigold. Mexican bush marigold 'Compacta' is famous for its absolutely spectacular display of deep golden yellow flowers that cover the plant from late summer or early fall through late spring. The highly aromatic, fine textured medium green leaves are arranged on brittle stems & they smell like a blend of marigold, mint, & lemon. Growing up to 2-3 feet tall by 3 feet wide, makes it a good choice for border plantings. It is by far the best form if you intend to use it in container. For best results, plant in full to part sun & well-drained soil. The species is very drought tolerant. Attracts clouds of butterflies, deer resistant.
