American Airlines L-1011 First Officer Wings Sterling This is a museum quality reproduction of an older (obsolete) American Airline L-1011 First Officer wing in sterling silver. in 1968 Lockheed started development of the TriStar (L-1011) in response to a requirement form American Airlines. Also Douglas started the DC-10 in response to this same request. This wing was never issued & it is believe was made to try & and get American Airlines to buy the TriStar. The odds are Lockheed sales department had them made. Extremely rare since AA purchased the DC-10 & not the TriStar. Notice the winglets on these wings just like the L-1011.
