Here is a charming vintage Impressionist Autumn landscape of a view in Asheville, North Carolina. The art depicts a colorful Autumn foliage extravaganza , looking downwards in to the valley near some mountains. I believe this is a plein air painting as on the back is a notation from a gift-giver who wrote this was a Painting by Lois Fischer ( Sue's sister) in Asheville, NC before then mall was built. Unsure which mall as there are a few on the outskirts of Asheville. It also shows this was a gift in august '98. "Lois was an avid artist & was a member of several art groups, including the Asheville Art League, the Swannanoa Valley Art League & the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. She was also a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church." obit info 2014 I think the painting looks a bit older than that, possibly 1980s time period & it was given at a later time. the painting measures 9 1/8 x 11 18 in. framed & is signed at the bottom right. The art is in very good vintage condition with only some scrapes to the frame. I would consider this a small painting.
