This is a RARE Portuguese printed cotton. The Portuguese people had a printed cotton industry that has a very unique feel to the patterns. I really love the composition of this piece! It's a wonderful lilac purple ground with deep purples & brown in the design. Wonderful picotage pattern ( the tiny dots, these were creating using blocks of pins, hand block printed on to the fabric. This panel is constructed by hand stitching together 3 panels of the wonderful fabric. A very special & unique find! MEASUREMENTS: This panel measures approximately 80 inches long by 57 inches wide. CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. For a fabric of this age, it's in wonderful condition.
