It is an unsigned, abstract, impressionist, "Outsider-Art" painting that could have been painted by an adult or child, but we will never know. It is painted on paper with what looks like a mixed-media combination of watercolor & pastel chalk & measures 16.5x22.5 inches in size. When purchased, I thought it was an original piece, but unfortunately I had to take it apart to confirm that it was in fact an original, work of at. This wonderful interpretation of a Jewish holiday features a family gathered around the table with a traditional Menorah as they hold hands & celebrate Hanukkah. The composition & color along with the touching, naive simplicity of this painting couldn't possibly be any better. All the elements of this family's religious holiday are featured with their Menorah front & center, Chagall-style white doves, Dreidels, open window with starry-night & of course the family dog. So sweet & special indeed. This painting is matted & framed in a genuine, silver-leafed, wood frame. I have removed the glass however for ease of shipping, so you will need to supply the needed glass on your own. The painting & frame are in very, good condition with a few, minor scratches on the frame. You won't be disappointed with this one-of-a-kind, original painting.
