Description
This woodblock print was inspired by the monarch butterflies flying about the milkweed plants in my garden. A perfect gift for any nature lover. Each of these prints is produced completely by hand. I draw the design directly onto the Shina plywood, which I then carve using various gauges & carving tools. I print the image by rolling oil-based ink onto the carved block, laying paper onto the inked surface & using a wooden spoon to rub the back of the paper, thus transferring ink to paper. 'Monarchs in the milkweed' is printed in a limited edition of 50 prints. Each print is numbered, titled, signed, then carefully packaged with acid free foam core in a plastic sleeve & shipped in a sturdy mailer. Due to the nature of hand-printing there are minor variations from one print to another.
