On this episode of Field of Dreams: the Zachary Pryor Years we ask the universe if there is validity in "if you paint it, you will visit". Years ago I walked into a bar in Silver Lake in the late afternoon & chatted up the owner/bartender. I told her she looked like Rachel McAdams. We were together from then on, for 4 days straight. I was her willing hostage on an epic tour of Los Angeles & we had some incredible times & have remained friends ever since. I have even collected more loved ones simply by dipping my toe into her social circle. These days she gets to travel quite a lot & seems to favor Symi, Greece most of all. & I can see why. This view depicts Symi Harbor with the tower of the Annunciation Church in the foreground. One glorious day I will visit with her. I have painted this with ink, & acrylics on a 7x5 canvas board with a colorful bubble design throughout the image playing off the black linework to give just a slightly more funky/abstract feel to my usual style. I really enjoy combining my love for nature with my comic book style linework. The piece has a vintage shabby chic black frame.
