Here is a delightful small oil painting of a wharf/harbor restaurant in France. The painting measures 7 1/4 x 12 5/8 in. Painting only measures 6 x 10 1/2 in. I looked up to see if this restaurant was still in existence & it actually is. I found out it is located in Port Camille Rayon, Golfe-Juan in France. Golfe-Juan belongs to the commune of Vallauris in the Grasse arrondissement of the Alpes-Maritimes department, which belongs in turn to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France ( per Wikipedia). This painting is a colorful Modernist little beauty painted on wood & framed in its original frame. The art is signed A. Dumond & on the back is a label with more French writing which I can only make out a small bit. The date is 1940, & his name was Adolphe Dumond. There is a pic on the listing so see if you can make out any other writing yourself. The art is in good vintage condition with the original frame having some miter corner separations & minor nicks to the wood. The painting itself is in very good vintage condition.
