NATURAL CORK PANELS / COMPACT GRAIN 3mm & 6mm Natural cork has several applications in the shoe industry. It can be used for insole padding, the making of foot beds (which requires a special cork mixed with rubber for better resistant properties), wedges, heel lifts platforms or midsoles, depending on your project. Cork has a lot of benefits when it comes to shoemaking or shoe repair: - Provides comfort & protection for padding underfoot. The firm & resilient cork base provides the support needed for longer walks without fatigue. - Cork is shock absorbing, it reduces the impact whenever one is walking on hard surfaces protecting joints & bones. - Cork is a great insulator, preventing from over-heating or over-cooling. - It is relatively odor resistant by normal use (needs to be dried out completely from time to time) - It is recyclable & biodegradable - It is Naturally renewable - No heat moldable in general, cork has several applications for different kinds of crafts. - This compact grain panels are very resistant & have a nice smooth surface. - This panel is recommended for insole padding (it's better to apply glue or sealant for better durability properties), heel lifts; to give extra cushion, they are placed in between the layers of the heel leather stack.
