This beautiful set of earrings with brooch certainly comes from the Muslim mid-east, but I'm embarrassed to say I don't know exactly where. They are vintage items, possibly antique, weighty & well made. The earrings & brooch depict a desert landscape with hand engraved features using the niello technique that include a mosque, shorefront, palm trees & dhow. The jewelry is unmarked but tests for very good silver, at least 925. The brooch has old fashioned pin mechanism with is quite sturdy - ditto the screw backs on the earrings. The silver used in the jewelry is .2cm (1/16") thick. The brooch is 5cm (2") across X 1.8cm (11/16") wide. It weighs 11g. The earrings are 4cm (1 9/16") in total length X 1.8cm (11/16") wide.
